All Season Activities Keep Guests Busy in Breckenridge

Many Breckenridge Ski Resort activities can be enjoyed throughout both the summer and winter.
It's not just skiing and boarding in the winter and hiking, biking, swimming and rafting in the summer. There are tons of other activities in Breckenridge all year. If you have any questions, our Travel Specialists are standing by to help you plan your Breckenridge vacation.

BRECKENRIDGE WINTER ACTIVITIES: Skiing is a given. Breckenridge Ski Resort offers some of the best skiing in Colorado. Visitors who may not want to strap on ski boots may enjoy some of these activities:

Sledding.  Sledding is not permitted at the resort but Carter Park (the south end of High Street) is one of the only sledding locations in town.

Snowmobile and Dog Sled Tours:  Some tours take clients to old mining sites, which gives visitors a different look to this Colorado ski town.

Snowshoe and Nordic Skiing:  Various trails meander throughout the White River National Forest. The Nordic Skiing and Snowshoe Center offers guided tours and ski schools with a full-service lodge and repair shop.

Sleigh Rides:  Take a horse-drawn sleigh through the Breckenridge mountains and snow-covered valleys then be treated to a Western buffet and live music with Breck Sleigh Rides.

Hut Trips:  Want to get out in the backcountry? Take a trip with the 10th Mountain Division Hut System and explore 350 miles of untouched terrain. They do trips in both winter and summer.

BRECKENRIDGE SUMMER ACTIVITIES:  Breckenridge is full of activities all year. While it's known for skiing, the summer offers even more outdoor activities. There's something for everyone in the summer.

Hot Air Ballooning:  This is growing in popularity with a few different companies offering flights around Summit and Eagle County. It's a unique way to get a bird’s eye view of the Breckenridge Ski Resort area. Visitors will love viewing the snowy mountains in the winter and the lush green alpine forests in the summer.

Hiking:  From spring through fall, there's spectacular hiking and backpacking on the mountain trails in the Arapahoe National Forest. You can choose a backcountry trip, hike the trails around the resort or take a jaunt down to Lake Dillon.

Cycling:  With countless trails and numerous ski resorts with lift-service biking, Colorado is a mountain biking paradise. Breckenridge is no exception, and is one of the best ways to experience the area in the summer. Along with mountain biking, there are also paved bike pathways that lead to Lake Dillon, Keystone and Vail. There is biking for every level in Breckenridge, whether you are a seasoned- or novice-biker.

Fly fishing: Breckenridge fishing includes miles of streams, as well as the Blue River that runs through town, and numerous lakes within a short drive or hike from your Breckenridge vacation rental.
